On figuring things out...

I am by no means a web wizard...anything that is more complex/requires more brainpower than email has me bumbling about in a fog. Hence, for my first post, I am here shown with one of my best friends who has been invaluable during the blog set-up process. :)

On the blog name...baby brother suggested I combine my dad's nickname for me, "boo girl" with "blogger" to get, of course, "booger." What are little brothers for, if not to add a bit of class to your life?

Wilde, because I love the wilderness, and wild-ness too. I admire and respect it. It is beautiful and terrible, like anything that has life or soul. Irish, because I am. Well, descended from anyway. Canadian first of course, always.

I'm waking up, my life is changing constantly. It's a bit unpredictable and scary sometimes, but I keep meeting amazing people and I am learning so much. I am slowly growing.

Advice for you: live in the moment, celebrate diversity, find something good in everything, be prepared to adapt to anything that might happen.

I remember 1974, travelling by bus with 60 Ethiopians (none of babies wore diapers), two sheep, a bunch of chickens. Many people were sick from the motion of the bus. The men in the back of the bus were chewing 'chat' leaves and feeling no pain!.The trip was 280kms with no stops - down the Blue Nile Gorge (6000 feet!) across the Blue Nile and up the other side on a snaking road. It was a trial all right! My CIDA partner, Anita LeBer from Toronto and I remained sane by singing Glen Campbell's Country Roads with gusto for hours!

Love and best wishes from the landlord from the Jessice Jackson House!

Blooger WIld Irish! Crazy name, of course. I love it. Love your blog: most interesting. Allows us to follow your life steps, your growth, emotions, perspections and loved ones. Super duper! Keep it up! I'm not sure how I'm supposed to sign, so I won't, but know that I went at the Mgr. Boyd's Market this morning, met your former boss, we talked about you fondly, and am starting to work there next Saturday! Youppie!

What an experience you are having! Today I was telling somebody about the neon and she said that she could identify with your experience, having been in the country herself before. She said it was sensory overload for her. Think of you often. Received your thank you card in the mail. It was not necessary, but so nice of you. Somewhere you've learned a lot of grace. You and your mother's smile are the same. Love from friend on Ridgewell.

Thank you Ridgewell! I appreciate you and your hospitality so much...I miss you and the ladies and look forward to seeing you in person again. Until then, I love the emails and notes on the blog...makes me feel almost as close as I was last week. :)
