After bumpity-bumping along a dirt road for some time, we came across these huge sand dunes in a valley. If you look closely, you can see my friend sitting atop one there in the middle:
Oh, it was glorious! It was so silent! The sky was so blue, and the space so empty-feeling. It was hot, but not too hot. We ran around in the sand like little kids, and when we stopped running, all we could hear was our own breath. Really cool. Guess I didn't realize how noisy Korea is until I left it.
Our guides, having done this shtick before, opted to chill for a bit. Incidentally, the Tibetan squat looks a lot like the Korean squat: ;)

You must be one tough chickie to be even out and about in that humidity. In NS it's too humid in the afternoon to walk the dog so I'm off, 7:30am, to do same. Thinking of you as I go down the trail....xxxx N.
What glorious pictures! What was the wildlife like in Tibet (other than the Yaks of course)? The dunes made me think of scorpions - pardon my ignorance as I have no clue if they live in that part of the world. ;)
heh heh, thanks auntie. There's nothing valiant in surviving the humidity...I have no choice! lol Thankfully this past week it was actually COOL a couple of days! wahoo! Yay for fall!
Thanks crick! As for wildlife, there really isn't a lot. Few lizards. Birds. Insects. There isn't much forest, at least not where I was, so there's not really a whole lot of habitat...thankfully I didn't see anything awful like a scorpion though. :)
